updating your wardrobe for spring

It’s almost time for a new season and that means one thing… some wardrobe updates! I’m so excited to start having lighter evenings, warmer weather and plenty of new things to wear. To get you guys excited, I’m going to share the best tricks for updating your wardrobe for spring.

The Trench Coat

It might be spring but it’s almost guaranteed to still be a little bit cold – the sun might be shining but it is without a doubt going to be chilly (and probably rainy)from time to time. A trench coat manages to bridge the gap between winter and summer, and it instantly makes your outfit look a lot more stylish. They’re easy to throw on, whether it’s just slung over your shoulders or worn properly, it’ll go with anything you’re already wearing. Not to mention, trench coats were seen all over the catwalks at fashion week, including at the Alexander McQueen show.

Lighten things up

When the sun pops his head out, it’s the perfect time to add some lighter colours into your wardrobe. The best colour palettes always include a few pops of pastel if you ask me, and spring is the best time to wear them all! For example there’s lilac, mint, blush, yellow and baby blue – just a few shades to get started with, with every shade enhancing your existing outfit. Joseph featured a lot of pastel blazers for SS18, which is one of the freshest ways to quickly update your look, and blazers are such a timeless piece.

Consider Florals

Now we all know florals aren’t groundbreaking, they come and go every year, but they are just the perfect Spring style staple, that cannot be denied. Just like blazers, they’re timeless! Wearing light florals is an easy way to add a feminine touch to your wardrobe and to make sure your style is updated for Spring. Taking inspiration from nature is always a fun way to reflect the seasons in your wardrobe. If you don’t want to wear head-to-toe florals then you can easily add a subtle nod to florals with accessories such as scarves, bags or our lotus pendant. An even easier update comes from this daisy flower bracelet which is a very dainty piece, but super cute.
